Product Description

Ford 221 24-stud Flathead Full Engine Gasket Set/Kit BEST GraphTite Head 1938-47

Another great vintage listing from Falcon Classic! This listing is for a BEST Gasket complete/full gasket set for 1938-42 Ford passenger cars and 1938-47 Ford trucks with the 221ci "24-stud" flathead V-8 engine. P/N RS505G. This engine is referred to as a "24-stud" because each head requires 24 studs to fasten to engine block. Also to help with identification, the 221ci has a 3.062" standard cylinder bore; compared to the 3.187" standard bore of the 239ci flathead.

BEST Gasket is the leading name in sealing performance in the restoration industry. Image shown is an actual factory supplied picture showing set contents.

GraphTite™ cylinder head gaskets consist of Kevlar reinforced graphite facing material mechanically bonded to both sides of a perforated steel core. This modern engineered, high-performance material is rated to a temperature of 1400°-F. Steel fire rings are installed in the combustion chamber areas of the gasket.

GraphTite™ head gaskets have superb sealing characteristics, excellent torque retention, and hold up to the punishment dished out by high-performance engines – high quality all the way. This gasket might be overkill for cruiser engines, but so what... extra performance never hurts!

FALCON TECH NOTE: When installing GraphTite™ head gaskets, use a spray-on sealant like K & W Copper Coat or Permatex Copper Spray-A-Gasket and always re-torque... no short-cuts.
